On February 21st, I ordered an ASUS MeMO Pad(TM) FHD 10 LTE – Dark Blue from AT&T’s online store that was on sale. The deal included the tablet for free, with a two year commitment.
I received the following confirmation after a required call to AT&T, that verified my identity and credit.
Shortly afterwards, I received the following email.
After two weeks, I called AT&T Support. They apologized and said the tablet was no longer in stock and they were awaiting further tablets from the manufacturer.
Two days later, I noticed the tablet was still listed on the store at it’s full price of $299.
I contacted AT&T’s online Sales Support. I asked if the tablet was in stock. They said it was and that they would be happy to help me place an order.
They transferred me to Order Support, to check on my order.
At this point, I began to feel like either April or Norma are lying to me. AT&T’s deal included free express next day shipping, and it’s been two and half weeks with no update. I can’t get any further information. I believe that the tablet is actually in stock, but that AT&T does not want to offer the promotion they were advertising for several days.
Tomorrow, I’ll reach out to AT&T Customer Care via Twitter.
I’m not optimistic that AT&T will honor their promotion or sale.
I’ll update this posting with any further information or new developments.
