Have you received and email from Joseph Avery about his spamming forum website? It’s located at (http://seekit.com). He spams users from a Google account asking people to join his horrible high school project website. After not placing an unsubscribe link in his email, he refuses to honor unsubscribe replies and tries taunting his email recipients.
After a bit of digging, I’ve dug up a moderate amount of data on Joe.
He’s hiding behind a Google voice number. It’s 352-577-2557, I would suggest you give him a call if you’ve received an email from him and ask for a removal from his spam hit list.
He also has a FaceBook app that when I tried to join shows that it’s little more than a way to obtain personal information about you and your friends. I reported it as SPAM to FaceBook, hoping they will remove it from their site. I would suggest you do the same.
People like Joe think they have the greatest idea in the world, “I’m going to become the next Google, or Yahoo!”. They think they can compete with Twitter or Craigslist. I have news for you Joe, Google is the best at what they do because they’ve been doing it for years and have an army of highly intelligent people in their workforce and they operate by a code of ethics. Twitter was creative, and Craigslist filled a niche that no one effectively had filled. You took off the shelf piece of software (vBulletin) and created a forum like countless hundreds of drones have done before you.
Here’s his “Basic Information” from the seekit.com website. He sounds like a douche-bag punk to me…
- Date of Birth
- March 25, 1986 (24)
- I currently attend the University of Florida and am pursuing a PhD in Exercise Physiology specializing in Cardiovascular Physiology. I hope to receive a professorship when I graduate at an institution somewhere in California (preferably San Diego). In the mean time, I put this site together to hopefully provide a useful outlet for people to buy and sell items. If you can’t find what you are looking for here, I encourage you to connect with other members, and maybe, make a few new friends.

These’s are Joe’s replies to my requests to be removed from his mailing list. I asked to be removed three times and called the Google voice number he’s listed on his Seekit profile. He didn’t have the balls to answer.
Can’t we just be friends?
So, does that mean you’ll register then?
Joe, I sincerely hope your little side project fails and that you lose a lot of money. You have no ethics, have a terrible business idea and are a general asshole.
Just as I was finishing this post, Joe called me back. He was much more polite and claimed he would be honoring my request for removal. Since he actually called me back through a non-Google number, he revealed his actual number. For any interested parties, it’s 850-496-9619.
In the past 15 minutes, Joe has tried emailing me once and calling me four times. Luckily, my phone and email can be configured to block his harassment without me even knowing he tried to bother me. Go away Joe!
Joe continues to call…
Update 4 (8-16-2011):
Joe is now messaging me on Skype…go away!
