Has anyone else seen porn in your News Feed from people you know wouldn’t post it?
Apparently, it’s becoming a real issue. I’ve seen it twice now in my News Feed of my FB friends posts.
Please be very careful about what apps you use on Facebook, you often grant apps the right to post content as you. If one of these apps is hijacked or “nefarious”, then there is no limit to what they can post as you.
Often, posts about free iPads, free sunglasses, free Macs and other “free” stuff are actually apps hidden as posts. When you like or share, it’ll ask you to join the app.
I’ve seen videos that work the same way. If you click on a video, news story or web link that asks you to join something on Facebook to see what you just clicked on, don’t!
You can also view your current app list and unsubscribe from apps. Maybe it’s a good idea to review your app list and see if you see something fishy. If you say “I don’t remember joining ‘I love fuzzy bunnies'” or some other item you don’t know what it is, remove yourself. It’s good FB hygiene.
In short, be mindful and very selective about what you like, share and join on Facebook. Your reputation may depend on it!
